This academic major is offered to prepare teachers and educational personnel with professional skills in English, a solid foundation in the English language, and competency in the areas of English listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translating. We train capable students to work in teaching and research in all academic levels.
Apart from learning the basic theories and elementary knowledge of the English language, culture, history, politics, economics and diplomacy, and being trained in the areas of English listening, speaking, reading, writing ,and translating; the students who choose Teacher’s Training as a profession have to study the teaching theory. They must also know the laws, and regulations on education along with the mastery and application of the basic theory of pedagogy and psychology displaying competence in teaching and in other educational work. It is also required that the students master a second foreign language.
Required Courses: Comprehensive English (Basic and Advanced English), English Reading, English Grammar, Oral English, English Listening, English Translation, English Writing,English Newspaper Reading, and Computer Application.
Main Professional Courses: Pedagogy, Educational Psychology, English Methodology, Introduction to Linguistics, Educational Laws and Regulations, and Administration in Class,ect.
Length of Schooling: Four years for the undergraduate program (Bachelor of Arts is awarded to undergraduates) Three years for a non-degree program.
